Hand and wrist injuries

General Advice

Many hand and wrist injuries can be effectively self managed with the help of expert advice from a Chartered Physiotherapist / Physical Therapist.

Common wrist and hand injuries include

  • breaks (fractures) of the wrist and fingers. Exercises are important in regaining full function in the wrist and fingers after a break
  • sprained wrist
  • carpal tunnel syndrome. This is pressure on the nerves as they pass through the carpal tunnel of the wrist into the hand. Carpal Tunnel syndrome can be exacerbated by repeated use at the wrist, for example with computer work, and is common in pregnancy.
  • At Physiobench we can help you self manage your hand or wrist injury

Every injury is unique, so self managing your hand and wrist injury doesn't necessarily involve following a standard set of exercises. However we encourage you to first explore our general advice

To greatly improve your chance in succeeding to self manage your injury, our expert team of Chartered Physiotherapists / Physical Therapists can help. You can choose a physio with the right specialist skills who can provide you with a personalised treatment programme
